We just uploaded latest release of Flow Home to the Play Store and it’s a big one. The first thing you’ll notice is a full visual overhaul, mainly to add support for wallpapers. We’ve added new theme variants with more margins so the feed can comfortably live on top of your wallpaper, and we dynamically blur it as you swipe over to your apps.

The other big change is to quick search.

We’ve redesigned the UI, but also made it even faster. Long press on the quick launcher, then type something close to the name of the app and we’ll figure it out. You can even press the search key on the bottom right of your keyboard to launch the top result, check it out.

Even if you have a typo, for example something like “twu” for Twitter, most times we will still find the right app. Once you get the hang of searching you won’t know how you lived without it. Just long press, type a letter or two, and your app will be right there.

In this release we now default to opening feed items in their source app. It seems to be more useful to jump right to the source in most cases. The one exception being full articles which we still open those in our reader view.

As always there are a bunch more improvements that you should notice as you use the app. Hope you like it and let us know what you think! New invite code is BETA19.
