No time to explain. In this series of articles, I do a quick website review, where I analyze three flowchart aspects such as onboarding, killer features and dark patterns. Grab these ready-made user flows for free and build your own. Today, we are going to focus on CopyAI. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

#1 — Onboarding

What’s good?
The first step is to assign an “onboarding buddy” as your new hire who will be taken through the onboarding process for one-on-one mentoring or as a general resource Copy AI’s buddy here is a magician. Yes, It seems like an unusual pattern at first glance, but compare these two figures.

What’s bad?
Well, there are bad things going on too. Surveys before you even start to know the product seem a little confusing to me. Yes, it makes you know your customer better, but there must be another way. I would suggest them implementing multiple-choice questions. How about that?

What I’ve learned?

  1. Use the magick link advantages
  2. Gamify your surveys

#2 — Generating content

What’s good?
At first glance, it might seem like not much, but it actually makes your workflow faster. Let’s be honest, nowadays AI’s assistants don’t have to carry out a big research in order to collect most of the data they need. Generally the flow is designed smart and easy to use, it can help you break the writer’s block, though I have to mention the result is far from perfect.

What’s bad?
Copywriting is a feature where 2 or more writers work on the same document together simultaneously in real-time, at least I hope this was the purpose of creating the generalized content process. The problem is there is no option to instantly share the ideas with your team. Or wouldn’t it be great to have an option of highlighting some parts in the text?

What I’ve learned?

  1. Collaboration is our future
  2. Find and integrate your inspiration from material world

#3 — Creating a project

What’s good?
At this point, I’m not sure how to make it even better. But here are few ideas to make process of creating projects more efficient and clear for users:

  • keyboard shortcuts for adding tasks (Cmd+N) and grouping them (Cmd+G);
  • via drag-and-drop interface with your own file;
  • voice interface;

These are just ideas.

Outro

I really like the flow, especially the magic link. Hopefully one day it becomes a common practice. Or maybe even more — us, the designers, we will find a way to make a fast, intuitive and secure registration process with some alternative way we can not imagine now.
