the hunt for the U.S.S. Wasp

For those of you who are into WWII, you might find this story on the NYTimes a fascinating read. It’s about the search for the wreck of the U.S.S Wasp which sank in 1942 in the Pacific after being attacked by a Japanese sub. There’s so much about this piece that I found fascinating — from the story of the attack on that fateful day to the stories about the lives that were lost (and those that survived) to the team behind the search for the wreck. AND did you know that the late Paul Allen was into underwater exploration and WWII history?
