Instagram to roll out a new Guides feature that will let users assemble content at one place. This feature will resemble a blog post for it will include photos, galleries, texts, and videos for illustrating a particular topic. Now creators can easily curate and assemble content in a single place. This feature will allow users to easily find curated recommendations on their Instagram accounts. Earlier this feature was available only to selective users like popular publishers, creators, organizations and public figures but now every Instagram user can create and post Guides on their Instagram accounts.

Instagram Feature

A spokesperson from Instagram recently stated that it introduced Guides Feature initially for enabling its users to easily find content that provides tips and recommendations from popular organizations, creators, publishers, and public figures. As the Covid19 pandemic came into the picture, Instagram aligned its Guides features mainly on topics related to health and wellness for encouraging its users to work on their wellbeing.

The first few Guides promoted on the Instagram platform was related to Covid19 and Mental Health. Later, Sarah Yogi, a popular Yogi and Meditation expert released a series of Guides on stretches and exercises for Instagram users to stay fit and healthy.

Instagram is now expanding its Guides feature to support the inclusion of content apart from the one that focuses on the health and wellbeing of the users. Posts, Places and Products are going to be the added content for now. Users can now create guides pertaining to product recommendations, travel, and other generic content.

You can visit a user’s Instagram profile and look for Guides in altogether a different tab or you might even find the same featuring in the Explore tab. Guides can also be re-shared in the form of direct messages and stories by visitors.

You will be able to see videos and posts curated by a creator with his own commentary, tips, or advice. Both popular creators and other users can post in Guides on their Instagram account. You can learn in detail about a specific post by simply tapping on a particular video or image for viewing the original Insta post. If you wish to share a Guide as your Instagram story then you can even do that by using the share option.

Only a specific group of Instagram users like popular publishers, creators, organizations and public figures had the option of creating, posting and sharing Guides with the Instagram users in the initial phase. This was certainly because of the fact that the Guides feature was initially launched at the start of 2020 and as a part of the trial only users like popular publishers, creators, organizations and public figures were permitted to post content that focused solely on physical and mental wellbeing.

Instagram has now finally made this format available to all users. Guides will also now feature all other types of content apart from mental health and wellbeing. Separately, Instagram even announced another update to enhance the users’ search experience on its popular social networking platform. Instagram rolled out Keywords Search features for enabling its users to search for content by using specific keywords. Earlier, users could look for content on Instagram using only hashtags but now they can even use keywords for attaining a refined and more accurate search. With the roll-out of these new features, Instagram aims at enhancing its user experience and leveraging user engagement. This popular photos and videos sharing platform with a higher user engagement will lure its users from leaving and uninstalling the application.
