How to get your app linked in AdMob
Solving the “Unable to link app to AdMob” issue
This article assumes you have a Google AdMob account, created ad units and have published an app to either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
I recently published an app to both the Google Play Store and the Apple App store that included Ads being served From Google AdMob. This was a brand new app, so it had not been “crawled” and entered into any online databases, specifically the AdMob database.
Apple approved the iOS version less than two hours after first submission. This was stunning, as I was used to 2+ day’s average time frame. The android version took another 5 days to get placed into their store.
Once your app is live, one of the last steps is to link the app store link to your registered app name by clicking on “Add store”. Until your app appears in the AdMob database, you can’t link to it.
The entire time that the iOS version was live, there were no Ads being served. Searching in Google and reading documentation lead me to believe that I could expect 48 hours and longer for the app to serve ads. Testing had worked just fine in both versions, so a configuration issue was highly unlikely as I only had to copy/paste the live ad unit over the test ad unit for the release.
