“This country can still be great.”

Good morning, it’s Thursday, June 22, 2017. This country can still be great. Let’s get fluynt.

In #TrumpRussia news — CNN is learning this morning that top U.S. intelligence officials told Robert Mueller and Senate investigators in closed session last week that Trump suggested they say publicly there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians. This follows Comey testimony the week prior that Trump nudged him to leave let this thing go — Maybe the President isn’t as direct as his son described.

President Obama’s Homeland Security Advisor, Jeh Johnson, seemed to agree with House investigators Wednesday as we was grilled about the Democratic Party’s failings to accept help from the feds when they learned of potential Russian hacking in 2016, saying at one point — I won’t argue with you.

Two big developments on the Black political front — The CBC reported Wednesday that it would decline further meetings with President Trump since his administration has been unresponsive to their concerns.

In more surprising news — Former Attorney General Eric Holder, who served under President Obama, the first African American to hold that post — suggested HE MAY RUN FOR PRESIDENT in 2020…stay tuned!

Holder isn’t the only Black man that thinks we can still make America great. Look no further than Moonlight star Mahershala Ali’s dashing GQ cover story by Carvell Johnson.

And finally, can a paid HBCU basketball program be the thing that shepard’s paid college basketball NCAA wide?

Stay fluynt.

But not in the MAGA way. After winning every award under the sun for his role in ‘Moonlight,’ Mahershala Ali used his platform to speak up for love and tolerance. And though he’s been profiled by Berkeley cops and placed on the terrorist watch list for having a Muslim name, he still believes that “in time the pendulum will swing in the right direction.”

The Plot to Disrupt the NCAA with a Pay-for-Play HBCU Basketball League
Patrick Hruby | VICE

What if I told you there was a way to pay men’s college basketball players a fairer portion of the hundreds of millions of dollars they generate, boost the flagging fortunes of the nation’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and stick it to the sanctimonious, self-serving quasi-monopolists at the NCAA?
