An ongoing series on the technical talent that we back

Fly Ventures exists to be the preferred first check VC for technical founders solving hard problems. As we reflected internally we realized that a lot of the press coverage our portfolio receives is on the second half of that statement so we’re taking it upon ourselves to highlight the talent that we’re lucky enough to back.

Meet Aymeric and Osman

At Fly we think a lot about a founder’s “right to win” — the collective experience / insights / networks that would arm a founding team with a unique advantage to succeed where others have (or will) fail. Right to win is how I would describe our investment thesis in the Agemo team. Generative AI offers the potential to drastically expand our productive capacity through a new era of software development. But achieving this requires a team that can blend bleeding edge research, production scale engineering and consumer-grade virality mechanics, which just so happens to encapsulate the Agemo team. This is what a right to win looks like.

Osman Ramadan, the CTO, is the driving force behind the technical innovation that defines Agemo. He spent a four year tenure at Microsoft, contributing significantly across various organizations like SwiftKey, Microsoft Search, Assistant and Intelligence, and Microsoft Research. He has authored several highly-cited papers and spearheaded Microsoft’s federated learning initiative. He’s also secured multiple patents in the fields of privacy-preserving machine learning and dialogue systems. Osman also led the Machine Learning and NLP Guild within the Microsoft Mobile Experience org, facilitating teams across London, Redmond, and Hyderabad in deploying ML models in edge products.

Aymeric Zhuo is the CEO of Agemo is a technical force in his own right having graduated from Polytechnique. Aymeric previously served as a Senior Product Manager at TikTok, where his contributions helped shape the user experience of hundreds of millions through his work on creator monetization, growth and collaboration within the algorithm team. He also served in Activision’s media unit where he played a pivotal role as team lead and grew the unit from zero to $350 million in just four years, with the notable launch of Call of Duty Mobile being a crowning achievement.

Driven by their passion to build from zero to one, both of them left the big tech corporate environments to pursue startup endeavors. Their path crossed at an applied AI research lab founded by early Deepmind employees, and they immediately bonded over their shared values and interests.

If you’re a deeply technical talent, or know one who is, and is thinking of starting a new venture. Please reach out to anyone from the Fly Ventures team.
