A portrait the author’s wife took of him when he totally wasn’t looking.

This boy was born in Brazil, the land of soccer, samba, the Amazon rainforest, and the beautiful beaches of Rio. He wasn’t very good at soccer, though, and he completely lost interest in the sport by the time he became an adult.

The boy didn’t have enough motor coordination to learn the samba either, though he had enough of it to play the drums in a death…
