  1. Jerseys

You could argue, purchasing and wearing a jersey symbolizes the utmost commitment to a team. Jerseys are by far the most expensive game day clothing item and deserve to be chosen properly. There are some simple choices you make but may not realize when determining your game day jersey. First, the reason you bought the jersey in the first place is often overlooked. Did you buy it to represent the team’s centerpiece, a Hall of Famer, or a “One-Timer” as Matthew Kory explains in his guide to buying a team jersey. Ultimately, you are required to represent a player when purchasing a jersey, unlike a t-shirt or hat where you are most likely representing an entire team.

“When possible, lean towards current players. You’re a fan of the current team and your jersey should reflect that,” writes Matthew Cory in his article.

Lastly, choose wisely because the player you pick might play for a different team a week after you purchase the jersey.

2. Hats

Hats are an extremely common way for fans to demonstrate their loyalty to a team. Hats have traditionally represented “sporty” people. A person might wear a hat because they plan on being outside or active during the day. Although when choosing the type of hat to shield your eyes from the sun on game day, what type of hat should you pick? A flat or curved bill? A visor? Picking the type of hat you want is a strenuous task and should be left to the free will of the purchaser. Although there is one exception, visors should never be worn unless you are planning on exercising. A visors purpose is to keep the top of your head cool while shading your eyes from the sun. A visor was never made to look good or become a fashion statement. The Colorado foothills receive a harsh amount of sun so wearing a hat is encouraged.

3. T-Shirts

By far the most common game day apparel, t-shirts allow sports fans to represent their favorite team on their chest. Shirts come in a plethora of styles and are almost always worn underneath jackets. They can help complete game day outfits and become symbolic of your support for your team. When purchasing t-shirts, keep it cheap. Purchasing t-shirts that are overwhelmingly expensive is simply not worth it.

4. Hoodies

Hoodies land 4th on our list because of the situational uses they have. Hoodies can be great when attempting to stay warm at a cold game. Similar to t-shirts, they allow sports fans to show off their favorite team on their chest. Hoodies can be removed at any time and also protect against water or any other substances that may fall from the upper deck. Although hoodies are comfortable and protective, they can also be expensive. Make certain you are not overspending on a hoodie you could find on Amazon.com for cheap.

5. Socks

In recent years, long socks with designs have become a trend. Fans can find socks with their favorite player's faces, numbers, or team logos. Although, the main reason why socks are placed last on this list is they can be expensive and covered up. Imagine your team is playing in an open-top stadium in 20 degrees Fahrenheit weather. Yes, socks will help keep your feet warm, but paying extra for design is pointless especially when your long pants cover the design. On the other hand, let’s say the event is warm enough to wear pants that show off your thunderous calves; you should add some style to those calves and wear your favorite team’s socks.
