The city of Fort Collins has many residents who love being active and enjoy playing sports with others. There are many local parks to choose from. Whether you are casually playing with a few friends or competing in a competitive league, the right location can make all the difference. These are the top five parks in Fort Collins that will increase the quality of your sports experience.

5. Fort Collins Soccer Complex — 3955 NE Frontage Road

For any soccer players, this is the place for you! With over ten well-maintained grass fields, your soccer experience will feel spacious and official (fields are regulation size). The complex is additionally planning to expand with the intention of adding four turf fields and an indoor facility later on. In a few years, this could be a premier sports location in Colorado where athletes who need the best field quality can enjoy these facilities.

Edora Park comes with a lot of variety for athletes of all kinds. Whether you play tennis, baseball, skateboard or enjoy disc golf, this park has it all! The park is well kept, safe, relatively quiet, and peaceful for athletes who enjoy more quiet spaces. It also has grass open spaces for soccer or football players looking for a place to train.

3. Fossil Creek Park — 5821 S Lemay Avenue

Located on the south end of town, Fossil Creek Park boasts tons of grass open spaces, a few basketball courts, tennis courts, and a skate park. All this and the park includes a decent sized pond adding some nice nature and scenery to your sport experience. The park has a calm and isolated feel and on top of that lots of parking so you can bring plenty of people to play sports with.

2. Rolland Moore Park — 2201 S Shields Street

A perfect place for a college hangout as it is just a few minutes from Colorado State’s campus. The park is generally very busy and popular among college students and residents in nearby neighborhoods and it makes sense! The city of Fort Collins updated the park adding ten brand new basketball hoops and a new court surface in 2020. Basketball players wanting to shoot around or play a competitive game, this park is your paradise! Further, the park has many grass areas, baseball fields, and a beach volleyball court. With good parking, a pond, and something for everybody, this park never sleeps!

  1. Spring Canyon Park — 3156 S Overland Trail

The best park for sports in the city of Fort Collins is Spring Canyon Park. It combines an unreal amount of space, high quality facilities, and a flawless location as it faces the captivating Horsetooth Reservoir. The park contains well lit tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer/football surfaces, basketball courts along with a skate park, bike park, and volleyball courts. The sidewalks are even smooth enough to roller skate on if that is your thing! The parking and size of the park is unmatched and there is never a challenge to socially distance during this pandemic too!
