Soccer has been a game played by many countries around the world, but Fort Collins has it different than Kuwait. After experiencing soccer in Kuwait, I found out that that there are many clubs that have great potential into creating world class future players.

One great soccer academy in Kuwait is called, “Academy Kuwait (Juventus),” this club has a lot to offer to kids in Kuwait. “Specialist training programs have been designed for toddlers, girls, and elite players, along with our very successful recreational program for boys aged 5–17yrs,” according to their website.

They provide best coaches and Juventus legends to keep eyes on kids, they also take them to Turin, Italy to let them watch a Juventus game. There are also leagues like the “GCC J League,” which they do every year and compete with other Juventus academies from around the world.

The other academy that also provides the same experience is “LOYAC AC Milan Soccer School,” which I used to play in when I was in school. This club is supported by the real AC Milan Club in Italy, they train hundreds of people each year. They have great equipment to provide during training sessions. Also, they have good tournaments that they organize every season.

From my personal experience, I played with them for years. My elder and my younger brothers also played for this club. It was fun, we liked it, and we miss it. I played professional matches in Kuwait against other soccer teams. I traveled with them to Italy for a tournament with my brother. We played several matches against Italian soccer players who were extremely strong against us. Unfortunately, we ended up being the 4th place in the tournament.

On the other hand, both clubs are making a lot of profit each year and most of the players are elites or rich kids, which is considered an issue to me even though they seek to create a better community. Like there are many talented kids who just don’t have money to enter these clubs. I also recognized that nobody went to play professional soccer after joining these clubs or took the career seriously, it was just for fun. That is to say, I still haven’t seen real professionalism in Kuwait even though we got one of the best academies, it always felt like there’s something missing. But after I came to study in Fort Collins, I saw more diversity in their academies not only in ethnicity, but in class too.

After living in Fort Collins, I made whole research about the soccer clubs here. One great soccer club that got inspired by is “Colorado Rapids” because they integrate people to each other easily, and they are much more flexible than many other clubs in Kuwait. It has teams for both boys and girls, they seek for professionalism. The coaches are not popular or well-knowned, but I believe they are more dedicated than anyone else in the pitch.

Another club that hit me well is “Arsenal Colorado” because it has many resources that could build a real community. Their website was a great source, it included all it’s history and needed information to apply. They have opportunities for both genders, boys and girls, they are very inclusive and support all kinds of ethnicity and class from around the world. They treat each kid as a real player who is not there just to have fun, but to gain knowledge and be true about his passion. Their website was interesting because it had news articles for them, their own story, and their own newsletters. This shows a lot of passion that the club has supported itself with to make that community. Not only that, the club is non-profitable.

Fort Collins also have one of the greatest indoor fields, which is called “The Edge Sports Center.” This is not just a soccer field, it is a place that motivates and inspires generations of kids, and this kind of support is needed in Kuwait the most because most of the fields in Kuwait are only for fun. So, this huge gap between the infrastructure of soccer players is different from each other. Fort Collins wants to build a home, while Kuwait wants to create a place for fun.
