Advanced Review: Reading People by Anne Bogel
Have you heard of Modern Mrs. Darcy? She runs an excellent blog along with a podcast. And soon, she’ll be releasing her first published book to the world!
For being part of the Reading People Launch Team, I read an advanced copy and before we dive into the details, I’m obsessed with learning about personalities — my own and others.
It was a really quick read, and I really enjoyed it as I’m currently trying to navigate my own life.
Key takeaway: it’s really important to understand people and why we may do the things we do.
Author, Anne Bogel, writes about a number of personality tests we can take, what we can expect learn from them and how to use the results to live up to your full potential.
This book won’t change your life by any means, but it will guide you and help us all understand why people are the way they are.
We’re wired differently, and that’s okay.
I also learned or made it known more clearly, that I am a highly sensitive person — HSP for short. It explains why I can’t handle loud noises and scary movies and why I cry so dang easily. #sorrynotsorry
There are strengths and opportunities in everyone, and we shouldn’t fault ourselves for being different or having challenges others may not have.
The subtitle is “How Seeing the World Through the Lens of Personality Changes Everything” and is Anne’s story of how digging into the 7 personality frameworks changed her for the better. The book explains how you can put those personality frameworks to work to change your life, work and relationships.
