The first third of the book unraveled like a train wreck that you can’t take your eyes off the pages. Then, the final section of the book was so gripping that it was impossible to put down.

Seriously. This ending stays with you.

For those of you halfway through, between the fascinating beginning and incredible ending — hang in there. The author is leaving breadcrumbs, but our one criticism is that they could have applied a few more of their powers of engaging storytelling to the middle of the book.

Reading this book is akin to running a marathon: a jolt of adrenaline in the beginning, an exciting sprint at the end, and a whole lot of just hanging in there in the middle.
