CIOs and tech executives are so busy and it can be hard to find the time to keep up with news and resources in the field. Listening to tech podcasts while driving, working out or performing day-to-day tasks that don’t require 100 percent brain power is a great way to bone up fast. Whether you’re looking for in-depth interviews with game-changing CIOs or want tips on the practical side of tech management, these are some of the best resources around. Here are our favorite CIO podcasts that can be added to your list of general tech podcasts like TED, TechStuff and USA Today Talking Tech.

1. Killer Innovations — Made by TWiT (This Week in Tech) and Hosted by CableLabs CEO Phil McKinney, Killer Innovations covers topics ranging from improving time management to enhancing your brainstorming sessions. For more by this team, check out the TWiT podcast hosted by Leo Laporte on the TWiT channel.

2. CXOTalk — If you want to hear from some of the world’s most forward-thinking CIOs — including the CIO of companies like Mozilla, Craigslist, IBM and Oracle — get in on the CXOTalk podcast. It was founded by ZDNet columnist Michael Krigsman, who asks critical questions about digital business, innovation, leadership and startups.

3. Security Now — Jam-packed with tech security news, this podcast is hosted by Steve Gibson, the man who coined the term “spyware.” It covers various current events related to tech security, including newsworthy security breach details and in-depth discussions about topics like DDoS attack mitigation.

4. Re/code Decode — Hosted by the Re/code Decode Executive Editor Kara Swisher, this excellent podcast includes lengthy interviews with powerful CEOs and CIOs.

5. CIO Upload — Although CIO Upload is a little bare bones, it is one of the best podcasts made for CIOs by CIOs. It’s the brainchild of Apigee chief architect Greg Brail, who interviews big CIO and CEOs. Some recent episodes include interviews with the CTO of AOL/Mapquest Jennifer Kinney and the First CTO of the U.S., Aneesh Chopra.

6. a16z — This podcast is produced by Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz and covers timely tech topics ranging from the emerging experience of technology in third-world countries to software infrastructure to the software-as-a-service trends. A must for CIOs raising capital.

7. Diva Tech Podcast — If you’re looking for a great way to join in on the conversation about (the lack of) women in tech, check out Diva Tech Podcast. This thoughtful podcast features discussions, interviews and insights with and by female tech leaders. It covers topics like creating a more egalitarian workplace, making an impact in non-profit technology, practical tech problem solving and more.

8. Internet of Things (IoT) — This podcast is housed by long-term tech journalist Stacey Higginbotham, who discusses broad CIO and tech topics like funding, innovation, development and more.

9. CIO Network Talk by CTN (CIO Talk Network) — Previously called CIO Talk Radio, this podcast offers a slew of CIO-focused talks, discussions and news for tech leadership covering big data, leadership, security and decision making. It’s neatly packaged with contributions from CIO Magazine Editor-in-Chief Abbie Lundberg, Forrester Principal Analyst Adam Silverman and Credit.com Founder Adam Levin.
