No reason to love

Someone asked me,

Why did I love you?

I couldn’t find a reason,

Their eyes justified it as treason,

Like a long answer written in brief,

I failed to find words.

Should I enlist why you were the one?

Isnt the point of “one” not being many?

Nobody asks the shore, why it chose water,

We don’t choose, we fall,

For people more affable than we like,

Souls less agreeable than we thought of.

But I recall something,

At the spur of the moment,

I remember the happiness you brought me,

Without any desire of it,

That’s what people do,

Give you warmth, before you burn yourself.
