3 Patterns of Life Response After Trauma
Are You ‘Fragile’?
After a trauma, three things can happen:
You might get mental health problems like anxiety, anger, or depression. In bad cases, you could think about suicide.
You could go back to how you were before the trauma, with no bad effects.
You might grow stronger and find new ways to live better. This is called “post-traumatic growth.”
Type One: Afraid of Making Mistakes
There are many people who are afraid of making mistakes, afraid of failing. They often say things like:
“I better not say anything, to avoid criticism.”
“I’ll do as little as possible, to avoid making mistakes.”
Doing this might make their life and work look steady. But they won’t grow or improve. The world is getting harder with more problems each day.
Sooner or later, they will have to face tough situations alone. If they don’t grow, they might make bigger mistakes and fail more than before.
Not facing problems doesn’t make them go away. Being perfect doesn’t mean you never make mistakes. What you don’t learn stays unknown.
