We all hit slumps.

Those days (or weeks) where motivation disappears, goals feel impossible, and life’s energy takes a coffee break without telling us.

It’s normal.

But staying in those lows longer than necessary is where things get tricky — and, yes, I’m guilty too.

When I’m in a rut, I go full hermit mode: head down, glued to my work, barely noticing the world around me.

The result is, unfortunately, that days blur into weeks, inspiration vanishes, and I feel utterly stuck.

Maybe you’ve been there, waiting for some magical aha moment — a quote, a podcast, a sign from the universe — to yank you out of it.

But, waiting doesn’t work.

We often believe change starts with a shift in mindset.

Sounds logical, but it’s inefficient.

Wisdom nuggets that genuinely alter our perspective are rare (and let’s be real — most Instagram quotes hit like stale bread).

Life doesn’t change because we think differently; it changes because we act differently.

Richard Rohr nailed it: “We don’t think ourselves into new ways of living; we live ourselves into new ways of thinking.

This hit me hard a couple of months ago.

I’d been stuck indoors, working nonstop, feeling miserable.

Take inspiration from the 90s classic Groundhog Day (yes, I’m spoiling it). Bill Murray’s character is trapped living the same day on repeat — a metaphor for the monotony we create when we resist change.

His escape was living differently. Helping others. Embracing new behaviors.

Only then does his life transform.

So, if life feels like your own personal Groundhog Day, stop waiting for inspiration to strike.

Start living differently. Try something new. Shake up your routine.

As you act, your mindset will follow.

Action inspires. Thinking about action? Not so much.

Happy Monday, have a wonderful week, all.
