A Lifelong Work
The work of self-knowledge is a lifelong endeavor, lasting until our final breath as long as we exist on this earth.
In the work of self-knowledge, each step you take will surpass the previous one, so there is no end to your success. In other words, you can always be more successful each time. This is not a type of work where you can say,
“I succeeded in this… I accomplished this… I overcame this.”
and receive a diploma.
It should never be forgotten that the work of self-knowledge is the work of mastering the self, that is, freeing oneself from burdens.
We must remember that we have various personalities and that we need to create our true personality from among these personalities; we must create and live our true personality without fear or hesitation from society, people, or anything else.
It is very beneficial for a person to engage in the process of self-remembrance for this work frequently. This means not being identified.
In life, we often let ourselves get lost in events, and become as if we are those events; we identify. Therefore, this hinders our self-remembrance and also our self-knowledge. We get caught in a web of lies, use defense mechanisms, and make excuses.
However, we should avoid using these excuses. We need to learn to speak and evoke the truth.
