In this edition of People of Fonk, we point the spotlight at our Dutch digital marketing intern, Thomas.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Playful. Sporty. Neat. Social. Ambitious.

What’s your favourite thing about being a Fonk employee?

Being flexible in and around the office. Working on different locations, grabbing a coffee in the area or a good game of pingpong in the office.

Do you have any hidden talents?

The shuffle.🕺

What is your favourite spot in Cape Town and why?

Muizenberg. The first time I went for an early morning surf at Muizenberg, it gave me goosebumps.

If you weren’t a digital marketer, what else would you be?

From a young age, I was always interested in food. I think I could have explored studying to be a cook or anything relevant to the food industry. It’s a dream of mine to create a successful food concept whether it be a restaurant, foodtruck or snack brand.

What book are you currently reading?

DJ by Kluun. It’s about a DJ from my hometown, Breda, on becoming a world-famous DJ.

Five most used emoji’s?

😂😀😃😜😭

What keeps you fresh and motivated?

I love to go out for an early morning surf. However, any sport counts whether it be running, boxing, surfing, football or bootcamp class. They all keep me strong, motivated and clear-headed.

With a digital focus, which real world problem would you love to solve with an app?

Transportation & Sustainability.
