Context matters when it comes to design. People need to know what they are looking at when you showoff your design. If you create a iPhone app design it’s best to put that inside a iPhone mockup to show that you intend for the design to be used in a smartphone. If you design a website or app built for the web it’s smart to wrap that design in a browser window mockup to help people realize your design is intended for the web.
It can be tedious to crop your design or screenshot to the right dimensions that to fit inside a mockup. If you really want to make your mockup pop it takes even longer to add a drop shadow and background color.

What I use it for
I use Screely for my own personal Dribbble posts as well as all FontPair social media and website designs I want to share. Using Screely makes it easy for me to take a screenshot of a great font pair and quickly share it on the featured section of the website or on the FontPair Instagram.
Pros
- Screely is straightforward and easy to use for anyone (no design skills needed)
- The creator of Screely, Jurn, is constantly improving the product and adding new features based off of users feedback.
- Screely is free!
Cons
- There is currently no way to change the dimensions (height and width) of your screenshot before you download it. It would be great if you could instantly export in different preset sizes (1050 x 1050 for Instagram or a 800 x 600 for Dribbble).*
*Jurn just let me know that the ability to change the size will be added as a feature in the next few weeks 🙌
Why I use it
I use Screely over other similar tools because it’s so straight forward and easy to use. There are no frills or extra unneeded features. The site works fast and as expected every time. Jurn W has done a great job building Screely!
