Jam pinwheel roll is a very unique and innovative recipe. People of all age group especially kids will love this. This can be eaten as snacks with tea or coffee or you can also treat it as a lunch box item for kids or can also be enjoyed as a dessert. It can be stored for a week in an air tight container.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cup All purpose Flour Maida
  • 2 Tbsp Oil / Ghee / Butter
  • 1 Cup Water Yo knead Dough
  • 1/4 Cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2 Tbsp Strawberry Jam Any Jam
  • 2 Tbsp Blueberry Jam Any Jam
  • 10–12 No. Cloves
  • Oil Deep/ Shallow Fry

Instructions

Dough Preparation

  1. Take a bowl and add 2 cups of Maida to it.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of Oil, Ghee or butter and mix it well until it holds shape.
  3. Add little water in batches and start kneading dough.
  4. Knead Dough well. Dough consistency be shouldn’t be loose else pinwheels will absorb more oil.

Pinwheel preparation

  1. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
  2. Take one part and roll it into a thin Roti.
  3. Sprinkle one tbsp of desiccated coconut over it and spread it evenly.
  4. Fold it to half and brush little water to seal it. Now add it to another half making a square shaped Roti.
  5. Roll the Roti to a thin sheet. Repeat to make 3 such rotis.
  6. Place one square sheet and add 2 tbsp of Jam of your choice. Spread it evenly.
  7. Now place another square sheet over it and apply another 2 tbsp of Jam of another flavor of your choice.
  8. Place the third square sheet and spread ample amount of desiccated coconut over it.
  9. Now start rolling the sheet to a cylindrical shape sealing the corner. Roll it tight.
  10. Cut evenly approximately 1 inch of size.
  11. Take one roll and seal the corner using cloves. Seal it tight else it will loosen while frying.

Frying Pinwheels

  1. Frying pinwheels is the most important part as the temperature is the important factor to get perfect Jam pinwheels.
  2. Take a deep pan and add oil to it. You may deep fry or shallow fry as per your choice.
  3. Once the oil is medium hot, carefully put pinwheels one by one.
  4. Maintain the heat throughout the frying process to medium hot.
  5. Flip and fry pinwheel carefully.
  6. Fry untill pinwheels are cooked from inside. It will become crispy from outside and golden brown in color.
  7. Take out pinwheels and roll it over desiccated coconut.
  8. Pinwheels Jam are ready. It can be stored for weeks.
