So it has been a very eventful weekend and I will try not to bore you with too much information.

So we launched ourselves, so to speak, last weekend. The most grueling two days I’ve probably ever experienced. But this post isn’t to groan and moan about the work or how difficult it was. This post is to thank you. For so much.

Both days were so much of a roller coaster. Words can’t describe it. Nothing went according to plan. Absolutely nothing! It was almost funny how systematically things fell apart and we had to go around picking up the pieces and fit them back in a way to makes sense within the situation that we found ourselves.

And let me take a moment to say Chalewote is too huge and too social an event to have overbooked spaces and not enough tents. You complain about the generation before us and how they never organise things properly but we seem to be following in their footsteps. Do better.

But as we set aside each crisis as it came along, for both days, things got better. And we received so much more support than I thought was possible. We have amazing friends and it took until last weekend to realise that fully. Friends who sacrificed their time to help us organise and sell and had to deal with the stress and the tension and mood swings. Friends and work colleagues who sacrificed their time and money to come see and buy what we had. Right now we cannot give anything but our truest and deepest gratitude. And also those who just liked what they saw and decided to try some, thank you for allowing us to lure you in with our flashy grill tricks(LOL). No matter what happened last weekend , that out pouring of love and support we received really and truly made it all worth it.

We may go quiet for a while. Maybe not. We need to recover from this draining experience. But we’ll keep cooking and keep planning and bring something orgasmically extraordinary for you to take a part in. So as the winds of the future push us unto our next step please do remember not to forget about us. lol.

Yours ever,

The Sous Chef
