Few days ago, while I had lunch I shared some nice recipes with an old friend and our conversation led into watching movies (as usual), watching movies at the cinema, watching movies at the cinema and buying popcorn, watching movies at the cinema, buying popcorn and nachos with dips. Our conclusion was that the popcorn at the cinema is kinda okay and edible, but the nacho dips don’t really have a natural taste. Their taste is too artificial. Therefore I decided to prepare a fruity and spicy dip at home. The recipe for a spicy cheese dip you can find already here.

1.) What do we need for the fruity and spicy dip?

  • 5x Ripe tomatoes
  • 1x Big red pepper
  • 1x Big green pepper
  • 2x Chilli pepper
  • 1x Big white onion
  • A bunch of fresh parsley
  • 1x Lime
  • Mixed pepper and salt

Since I will process everything with a hand blender, I only need to chop the tomatoes, the red, green and chili pepper, the onion and the parsley into small pieces. The size of the pieces is totally up to you. I prefer chunky pieces and don’t blend everything into a thick puree. From the lime I use the zest (grate it with a kitchen grater) and the juice and add both to the previously chopped ingredients.

2.) What to do now?

Now we cook everything together for around 8–12 minutes until the water has dissolved and everything gets a creamy look.

It’s time to add the mixed pepper and the salt and to blend everything.

That’s it! The dip is done and ready to serve.

PS: It turned out that the dip also fits very well on a slice of bread, or as filling for puff pastry turnovers etc.

Cheers!
