Yesterday, March 3rd, the grocery contract for thousands of grocery workers across Southern California expired. Here are a couple of things we want you to know:

What Happens Today, March 4th?

1. The protections of the contract stay in place.

For grocery workers, hours, wages, benefits, and job protections will remain in force.

2. As long as we are still in bargaining the company must abide by the contract.

Our union will continue to enforce it and represent grocery workers in the workplace.

3. Our union negotiators have been working hard to get management to the table.

Management has been slow-walking negotiations to try and force a bad deal. Despite our unions’ efforts, the companies refused to bargain before the expiration of our contract. We’re ready to begin talks and fight for a fair deal.

What Happens Tomorrow, March 5th?

The first bargaining session begins.

What does this mean for us Food Fighters? It means we need to GROW our numbers NOW. Let’s show our Food Fighter strength as we kick off negotiations tomorrow.

Can we count on you to help us get 500 new signatures today? Get your coworkers, family, and friends to sign the petition.

Ask your co-workers, family, and friends to sign the petition: www.foodfightus.com

Tell everyone, this is their fight, too. Have your co-workers, family, and friends support the fight for a living wage and the fight for better grocery stores for all.

This is just the start.
