My friends and I frequent this joint called The Wine Company. It’s located at Dempsey Hill, an enclave of colonial black-and-white buildings that were once barracks for the British troops. Today, these buildings house restaurants serving up a myriad of cuisines, from Greek to Vietnamese.

My wife and I live on a small farm in southeastern Wisconsin. We have a farmhouse made of rock, a stream, a pond, and 4 acres of land. Turkey and chicken are among the healthier choices of meat comparing to red meat. Now, some people might wonder which is healthier: turkey or chicken? According to Ansley Hill, a registered dietitian nutritionist, they aren’t significantly different. Keri Gans, another registered dietitian, also pointed out that though breast meat usually is leaner than thigh/drumstick dark meat, the fat difference is very small. Weird food doesn’t scare me. I delight in trying new foods, marveling at unique flavors, textures, and appearances. One of the reasons I love to travel is so I can try new foods that aren’t available at home here in California.

As an American, I grew up eating food that most of the world does not consider unusual or weird just because our massive entertainment industry has exposed non-Americans to our food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, steak and potatoes, and roast turkey have all been featured in various movies and TV shows.
