Is Burger shortened word from Hamburger?

When I was a kid, I watch anime where hamburgers become the main character’s favorite food. After I grew up I realized the restaurant just show a kind of burger on the menu.

Do you think a hamburger is the full name of a burger? Some people think the burger was the short form Hamburger to make it easier to pronounce like veggie for vegetables.

There are also those who think we add Ham- ahead because the burger fills with Ham (Pork Thigh) filling. Actually, I think so formerly. In fact, like cocoa and cacao or green tea and matcha.

Both of them are not synonymous but exist differently.

Both burgers and hamburgers are fast food that you’ll find delicious filling in between two slices of the buns. Burgers consist of many variants and the fact hamburger is one of the types of burgers. Burger has so many innovative ways to serve, you can make a pizza burger or layered burger with high layered filling.
