West Ham United have decided the time was right to part ways with Manager Slaven Bilic. The decision was announced on Monday November 6th with the West Ham Hierarchy currently on the hunt for a replacement.

The hammers made a woeful start to the season picking up a lowly 9 points from a possible 30 before heading into the weekend fixture at home to Liverpool. Having thrown away three points again Crystal Palace the week before, Bilic’s team went into the Liverpool game with a point to prove.

West Ham failed to settle into the game with Roberto Firmino forcing a stop from Joe Hart as early as the second minute. Shortly after Andre Ayew went close with an effort that struck the post for the hammers. The fight only lasted 21 minutes before the deadlock was broke through Mo Salah as the visitors took the lead. Joel Matip doubled Liverpool’s advantage only three minutes later with a tap in from close range. Manuel Lanzini managed to pull one back for the hammers ten minutes after half time but the shaky back line of West Ham then conceded a third immediately after the kick off. Later, Mo Salah bagged his second goal of the game with an accomplished finish which put the game to bed. The West Ham supports booed their side off the pitch at both the Half and Full time whistle.

After the match Bilic said: “I don’t feel a broken man, On the other hand, the situation for West Ham is not good and the club is above every individual. I cannot say anything negative [about the owners]. They have been supportive, very good to me in my two and a half seasons, but the situation is very difficult.”

After the defeat on Saturday Slaven Bilic was asked to attend a meeting at the club on Monday which eventually lead to the Croatian parting ways with the West London club.

The Hammers will now be on the lookout for a new manager to turn the ship around.

Bilic got off to a great start when he joined West Ham in 2015 leading the side to a qualifying place for the Europa league. Having failed to qualify for the Europa League the West London club went on to finish up the following season in 11th place and since moving to the London stadium in August 2016, West Ham have lost more games at home than they have won (W9 D4 L11).

As it stands Former Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes is the bookies favorite to succeed Bilic at the London Stadium though he is also heavily linked with the vacant post at Everton.
