1. Know Your Weaknesses

Before jumping head first into a program for weight training for a running back, it is important for you know your weaknesses. If making appropriate cuts is your weakness, there is no point in focusing excessively on following blockers. Strength training for football running back as well as speed and agility training should be designed with appropriate training goals in mind, so that you can work on your weaknesses.

2. Play to Your Strengths

Every running back is not built the same way — some are big and powerful while others are smaller and more agile. Play to your strengths.
