Footium will be auctioning two Division 3 clubs and three Division 4 clubs on Saturday the 26th of February. All of the money raised from these auctions will be going into the Footium Community Fund, which will provide grants for community-led projects!

TLDR:

  • We are auctioning off two Division 3 and three Division 4 clubs
  • Auctions will begin on the morning of Saturday 26th February UK time and the price will decrease over 24 hours
  • They will be dutch auctions (price decreases until somebody buys)
  • All money raised from the auctions will go into our Community Fund
  • The fund will be available for the Footium Community to apply for grants and use for various initiatives e.g data websites, Footium fantasy football, broadcasting

The Auction

The auctions will be taking place on Saturday the 26th of February on OpenSea. The first club’s auction will start at 8am GMT and there will be a club listed for auction every half hour after that until all five of the clubs are listed for auction. More information on each of the clubs can be found at the end of this article. The schedule for the club auction is as follows:

The auction of the clubs will be a Dutch Auction, meaning that the price decreases over time. You can buy each club at any time during the auction. The auctions will last a maximum of 24 hours, but will end as soon as someone buys each club. More specific details of the auctions are below:

Division 4: Price will start at 4.5 ETH and the ending price will be 2 ETH.
Division 3: Price will start at 8 ETH and the ending price will be 3 ETH.

The price will decrease constantly over the 24 hour period. For example, after 12 hours the price for a Divison 3 club will be 5.5 ETH.

Community Fund

The Footium Community Fund is something that we have been inspired to create after seeing numerous community-led initiatives pop up surrounding Footium before the game has been released. We want to remove any barriers that would prevent these community projects from achieving their full potential!

We have seen many projects being created already, from metaverse broadcasting studios to data-driven websites, which makes us excited for the future of community projects when Footium gets released. There have been discussions in the community about creating a fantasy football league for Footium when the game releases (Wen Ron Foreman price reveal?) and even head-to-head leagues outside of the main game. We can’t wait to see what our amazing community will continue to create surrounding Footium!

All of the money raised from the auction will be going straight into the Community Fund, and anyone building community projects will be able to apply for a grant from this fund. More details on the grant application process will be released following the auction.

Prior to the game launching, we will also release a Footium API to enable more possibilities for community projects. We have already released the Footium Club metadata, which can be found here: https://footium.club/ethereum/api/nfts/clubs/1

To cycle through the metadata, change the number at the end of the URL to select each club between 1- 3060.

If you have any questions about the auction or grants, be sure to ask in the Footium Discord or Telegram!
