into awkward
silence.

I dared to speak
one word
SHE.

Did I say something
surprising?

Yes.
I. Asked.
The. Question.
Out. Loud.

They squirmed
in visible discomfort.
Many furrowed brows
attempting to grasp
the cognitive dissonance;
perceptions of power…
