This delicious Spanish-inspired dessert is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth, whether you’re hosting a gathering or enjoying a cozy night in. With a crispy exterior, fluffy interior, and a rich chocolate dip, these churros are sure to become a household favorite.

Churro Frenzy at the Diner

Two people sit in a restaurant, quite hungry and keen,
They called for a worker, craving a churro dream.
“Delicious churros, please, with chocolate dip so creamy,”
Their eyes lit up, oh, this would be dreamy!

They watched in the kitchen, the chef with a grin,
Making churros so fast, it was quite a spin.
He twirled and he dipped, in chocolate so sweet,
His hands were a blur, oh, wasn’t that neat!

The couple was shocked, their jaws hit the floor,
As churros were crafted, they wanted more!
“How does he do it? So quick and so slick?”
Their laughter erupted, it was quite the trick.

In mere moments, the churros were done,
Golden and crispy, oh, what fun!
The chef gave a wink, and a nod with a smile,
Two people left happy, and churros? Worthwhile!

Ingredients

For Creamy Chocolate Dip:

  • Water (as required)
  • 80g semi-sweetened dark chocolate
  • ½ cup (100ml) Cream
  • ½ tsp instant coffee
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup (60ml) Milk

For Churros:

  • 50g unsalted butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • Cooking oil (for frying)
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon powder

Directions

Prepare Creamy Chocolate Dip:

  1. On a double boiler, add dark chocolate, cream, and instant coffee. Mix well until the chocolate melts.
  2. Add salt, butter, and milk. Mix until well combined.
  3. Let the mixture cool.

Prepare Churros:

  1. In a saucepan, add butter, milk, water, sugar, and salt. Turn on the flame, whisk well, and bring to a boil.
  2. On low flame, add all-purpose flour. Mix well until dough is formed.
  3. Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it cool completely.
  4. Add eggs one by one, along with the vanilla essence. Beat well and transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a 1M nozzle.
  5. In a wok, heat cooking oil. Carefully pipe the mixture into the preheated oil, cutting the end with clean scissors. Fry on medium-low flame until golden brown.
  6. For heart-shaped churros, carefully pipe the mixture in a heart shape on a 4x4 inch piece of butter paper and fry on low flame until golden brown.
  7. In a box, add caster sugar and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
  8. Add churros to the box, cover, and shake well to coat.
  9. Serve the churros with the prepared creamy chocolate dip.
