Fordefi Adds Exchange Connectivity, Unifying Institutional Control Across CeFi and DeFi Balances
New York, N.Y. — April 28, 2025 — Fordefi, the institutional MPC wallet platform built for secure DeFi access, today announced Fordefi Exchange Connectivity, a new capability that lets clients link spot accounts on Binance, Coinbase, OKX, and Bybit directly to their Fordefi vaults. The release brings centralized-exchange (CEX) accounts under the same policy engine, quorum thresholds, and role-based approvals that already safeguard on-chain transactions.
“Institutions move capital between exchanges (both CEXs and DEXs) and DeFi every day,” said Dima Kogan, Co-Founder & CTO of Fordefi. “Desks hedge and settle on centralized exchanges while deploying capital in DeFi. Exchange Connectivity removes the operational silo between those workflows without compromising security or governance.”
Bridging CeFi and DeFi Workflows
Market makers, hedge funds, and liquid trading firms routinely hedge, settle, and fund inventory on centralized venues while deploying capital across decentralized protocols. Until now, those flows required separate interfaces and disparate security models. Exchange Connectivity removes that fragmentation. Institutions can:
- Securely connect spot accounts by adding exchange API credentials (key, secret, and passphrase where required) to Fordefi’s enclave-backed credential store.
- View a consolidated balance sheet in real time, with CEX holdings displayed alongside vault assets for immediate treasury, NAV, and risk insight.
- Initiate deposits and withdrawals through Fordefi’s existing policy engine, ensuring every transfer meets the same quorum, limit, and role-based approval rules that safeguard on-chain activity.
Exchange HMAC keys are encrypted at rest and decrypted only inside Fordefi’s secure enclave for the milliseconds required to sign each exchange request. Institutions can further tighten security by binding venue APIs to Fordefi’s published static IP ranges.
How Exchange Connectivity Works
After an institution links its exchange account in the Fordefi console, balances surface in the dashboard within minutes and continue to update automatically. When teams move funds between a CEX and their Fordefi vault, the request runs through the same governance workflow they already use for on-chain activity. Once approved and executed, the transfer is captured as a single, verifiable entry — delivering end-to-end visibility without extra reconciliation.
Availability
Exchange Connectivity is live today for all Fordefi customers. Clients can enable the feature by navigating to Connections → Add Exchange in the Fordefi dashboard. Institutions interested in a guided walkthrough or in shaping upcoming functionality should contact their Fordefi account team.
