Ford’s quote is still valid these days. Indeed, having a collaborative mindset, workspace, and set of tools is more important than ever. Unfortunately, most back-office solutions on the market provide only basic features (CRUD, search, export…) and no features to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
From its design to its maintenance, it always takes a huge amount of time to develop a fully functional back office for your team… even for the most basic one! Being more complicated to implement, collaborative features are therefore never implemented.

In most processes, such as customer onboarding, support, billing, etc… several team members are involved. It implies multiple interactions between them and lots of shared information. When that information isn’t available in the same place, it’s impossible to quickly see the full picture.
That is why we built this collaborative feature — so you can spend less time switching between multiple apps to get inputs or manage your workflows, and spend more time on your customers.
How does it actually work?
The idea of a collaborative back office works as follows in Forest Admin.
In the secondary left panel of any displayed record from your database, you can now find a Collaboration tab in which you can create a note in no time.
It allows you to add detailed information to any record, for you to remember later and for your team to better understand the context around the data.
The Notes feature is also a way to seek help from someone in your team. By simply @mentioning them, you can get the answers you need faster. The person mentioned in the note is indeed notified in real time.
All your notes — the ones you created or the ones you’re mentioned in — are centralized in the main Collaboration tab in the primary left panel. They are directly linked to the record they concern so you can quickly access the information you are looking for. Better organized. Cleaner.
Instead of switching between multiple apps and losing time looking for information, your team gets this information directly in their back office.
NB: If you later decide that a note is not needed anymore, you just have to click on the Actions button to simply archive it.
How our customers are already using this feature
To illustrate the relevance of Forest Admin Notes, here are some real-world examples:
Heetch
They are using our back office solution to manage drivers’ onboarding all over Europe (to know more, re-discover their case study). At each step of the process, team members link notes to driver profiles such as “new ID updated”, “meeting missed for this reason” or “cool feedback during our call”.
Homeloop
Thanks to this new collaborative feature, they recently migrated all their notes from the CRM (Zoho CRM) to the back office. They are now using just one app to access all the data relating to the flats and homes there are managing for their customers such as sales meeting or debrief call notes.
Shadow
Shadow is a super powerful Windows 10 PC, accessible anywhere, from any device (under-powered PC, old Mac or smartphone) connected to the internet. By having more contextualized information about the customer (e.g. technical problems encountered, applied discounts, etc.) their Support team members can assist customers better and faster.
