Forest Giant Buzz: Apple Watch Apps
Since the release of the Apple Watch, there has been a buzz surrounding the many apps that are being made for the new wrist technology. While some apps are brand new, others have been redesigned for the Apple Watch to fit the simplistic, glance-worthy aesthetic. Either way, they all work to provide a seamless tech experience for their users. Check out some apps we’re buzzing about around the Forest Giant office.
Camera Remote
Use your Apple Watch as the remote for your iPhone camera. Set up your shot and see a live preview on your watch, even from a distance. Camera Remote is great for taking selfies, groups shots and even time lapses.
Citymapper
With Citymapper, you can check the fastest route to where you need to go directly from your watch. Get step-by-step instructions on how to reach your closet mode of transportation. Plus, Citymapper will “tap” you to let you know you’ve reached your stop.
Daily Bread
Daily Bread on the Apple Watch makes it possible to do your grocery shopping without the aid of a paper list or phone. Scroll through your grocery list, marking items off by tapping them and adding new items with the help of Siri. Daily Bread learns your most-purchased items and reminds you when it thinks you need to buy them.
Dark Sky
Know when it’s going to rain or snow — down to the minute — with Dark Sky. The watch app gently taps your wrist to notify you of any weather updates. Plus, it shows the daily and weekly weather forecasts with beautiful, engaging graphics.
Elevate
Pick the skills you’d like to improve with Elevate, and you’ll be given a personalized program to “train your brain” on the Apple Watch. This educational game can help its users improve comprehension, focus and more.
Slack
Keep up with your team’s communication, files and more with Slack on the Apple Watch. You can preview images and read conversations right on your wrist so you don’t miss any important details, even when you’re away from work.
Things
Things on Apple Watch simplifies your to-do list. Check off tasks as they are completed, and your progress bar will fill up as you complete your to-dos for the day. Easily add new tasks using voice control to keep yourself in check.
Uber
Uber’s app for Apple Watch has been simplified to make transportation seamless. Open the watch app to immediately see how long it will take for a car to pick you up. Tap to request an Uber car and confirm your pick-up location, and watch the car’s progress as it heads your way.
Quantified
We’re excited to enter the world of Apple Watch with our newest app, Quantified. This lifelogging app allows your to track the things you care about with ease. Quantified isn’t limited to health and fitness, though; track any habits you’d like to make or break. With categories like family, lifestyle, technology and more, you can track your way to knowing yourself better in all aspects of your life — with just a tap on your wrist.
