Hey Knights, we’re proud to formally announce our strategic integration with Polygon. We’ll be working closely with the Polygon team, leveraging upon their expertise to utilize their network and ecosystem to its maximum potential. This is a big step towards us becoming one of the top DeFi gaming platforms, and we’re thrilled to finally share the details!
Why Chrono Games and Polygon?
Polygon is a full-stack Ethereum scaling solution built to help bring mass adoption to the Ethereum platform. Ethereum is the eponymous open-source blockchain, opening a world of opportunity for decentralized applications. From decentralized finance to NFTs and metaverses, the possibilities are endless. However as the Ethereum network has gained more adoption, network congestion and fees have dramatically increased, making it almost unusable for some purposes.
This is where Polygon steps in. They’re the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform built on top of Ethereum for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. This means that they share keychains, allowing users to interact with the network using their existing Ethereum accounts.
Polygon offers blazing fast transaction times, ultra-low gas fees, and minimal network congestion compared to Ethereum. This is ideal for Forest Knight as it will allow players to enjoy their gameplay seamlessly, whilst still enjoying all the benefits of on-chain gaming.
The network has seen massive adoption and rapid growth, giving developers access to millions of users and attracting the best developers in the industry, such as DeFi Bluechip Dapps namely, Sushiswap, Curve, Aave, Balancer, Kyber, and more.
Plenty of top projects have chosen Polygon as their framework, and it has already amassed over $9Bn in TVL. This is partially due to its EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatibility, allowing Ethereum developers to seamlessly transition their DAPPs over to the Polygon network. It’s straightforward to move tokens onto Polygon using their official bridge, with many third-party solutions also available.
Our Polygon Integration Plan
Forest Knight is a turn-based strategy game, where players can build their dream team of heroes to traverse the wild realms outside the wonderful town of Chronville. This lends itself perfectly to integration on a high throughput, low transaction fee network.
The $KNIGHT token will be deployed on Polygon, which is a utility token used as the medium of exchange between participants in the Forest Knight ecosystem, and an integral part of the game mechanics.
The smart contracts behind Forest Knight will also be deployed on Polygon. With the power of Polygon, players will see functionality similar to other online games, but with the added benefits of the transparency, immutability, and security of blockchain.
We’re also exploring other DeFi applications for Polygon in the future, such as on-chain governance, supporting third-party marketplaces, and DEX liquidity farming, amongst other things.
Blockchain Features
Forest Knight will come with a fully-fledged set of blockchain features:
- In-Game Assets, such as land and collectibles, will be NFTs created on the blockchain.
- An in-game marketplace, powered by the $KNIGHT token. There will also be the possibility for third-party marketplaces, to help maximize liquidity.
- Our Battle Pass will be an NFT itself, leveling up as players complete missions. The NFT level will determine rewards at the end of the season.
- Pets will be an exciting feature in Forest Knight, planned to be introduced in the later stages of development. Players will be able to hatch magical eggs to receive pets with randomized characteristics. These pets are dynamic NFTs that can level up and affect players’ gameplay, as well as being used for DeFi purposes to participate in the ecosystem.
