After a successful beta testing, we are pleased to announce to the users and supporters of Foresting the grand launch of the main app. The Foresting app is no ordinary platform, and it offers you a variety of features and functions with unique services. The app will be released on AppStore, Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Store from Sept 9.
Let’s review the most important parts of this revolutionary platform which no other apps will offer any time soon. Before moving to specific functionalities, we are going to go through basic step to run the app. The Foresting app is a really light-weight application that can be downloaded and installed in a blink of an eye. The logo is simple and attractive with a gradient of colors, which inspires all the content creators and platform users.
As you remember well from the previous articles, the name implies “The forest of rewards” in short. First of all, the signup stage is quite easy. You are required to register with your email address or via other social accounts, namely Facebook, Google, Kakao, Twitter. Once you verify your phone number, you are all set up and ready to use the platform.
Once the app starts, you will see the latest contents related to your interests on the home feed. All posts are interactive with basic social media functions such as likes, comments, sharing and etc. Uniquely, Foresting introduces its PICK and Shooting buttons on a content. PICK is a type of voting system where users vote for best contents, and eventually, the contents with more PICKs will be rewarded with Berry (internal digital cashpoints) depending on the content score.
Unlike the traditional Like button, PICK is limited and it charges automatically 1 PICK per hour. Moreover, you have a maximum capacity of PICKs a day which is 24 PICKs. It is encouraged to use your PICKs wisely, to only original and top contents. One more thing you have to remember, once the content gets at least one PICK, it cannot be canceled of deleted anymore.
When you visit a content uploader’s profile by just clicking the username, you will see all the activity information about that user. You will quickly notice that there is a Shooting button with a blueberry icon. Shooting is a donation button with which you can support your influencers by sending some Berry to them. Shooting Berry will help you increase your activity score. A slightly attractive function, you can send a Shooting message to the receiver.
On the second tab, you will be redirected to the Ranking details. This page is categorized as “Contents & Users” and “Personal Cards”. For more information about the ranking system and personal cards, you can refer to our medium articles. The purpose of the rankings is to bring competitiveness among content providers and to give an equal chance for each user to get rewarded as it is evaluated every week.
The upload button, placed in the middle of the navigation bar, takes you to your camera or gallery to upload images and videos of all formats. Videos are limited to 15 seconds for now, it can be updated with higher lengths later. Also, Foresting is working on offering a video-photo editor inside the app. Wait for the later updates to try the editing tools.
We bet that the next tab will be your favorite because its name is My Wallet. All your points, digital cash, and cryptocurrencies (PTON, ETH) are saved here with detailed transaction history. In the Berry wallet, you have Blueberry and Raspberry. The difference between them is that Blueberry can be collected only by the platform activities. Users can buy Raspberry and it will be their digital cash for in-app purchases. Both of them have a fixed price of 100 Korean won per Berry. The PTON wallet keeps your ethereum wallet address and latest transaction history.
Just below the wallets, a list of mobile coupons will be shown with a collection of various items, for instance, ice-creams, coffees, movie tickets, concert tickets, food coupons and many more. For now, mobile coupon only available in South Korea. Soon, the company will add international coupons and gift cards which can be purchased by Berry you collected.
Finally, My Page tab keeps all other information about you and your account. Your awards and number of PICKs left, uploaded contents, PICKed contents, followers, subscriptions and shooting history are displayed in an awesome interface. In the settings, you can set up basic and additional information. To note, there is a referral code which is the same with your ID. Both the user registering with the referral code and the referral code owner will be rewarded with Berry. Inviting friends is always beneficial for you and your friends on Foresting.
One more bonus, you can convert your account into a business account to unlock hidden features. To give you a hint, you can create your own shop with a business account.
