What’s going on here?

We are forklog.consulting, a branded content + consulting agency, and as you can see, this is our blog. If you want to find out more about branded content, native ads, media business, and how it’s all done, you’ve come to the right place.

We’ve been in business for a few years now, and finally accrued the critical mass of stories, insights, and just thoughts on this up-and-coming business field and what they call best practices. So here we’re going to share all that with you.

We thought that if someone wrote all those things back when we were starting, we could avoid lots of mistakes that cost us time and peace of mind. So, while it might be too late for us to read such insights, it might be high time to write them.

Who we are after all?

We are the core team behind ForkLog, a leading publication on blockchain tech in Russian. However, almost immediately we were approached by corporate executives who needed our media and blockchain expertise. For years we have been engaged in helping tech companies in their promotion efforts. Soon we discovered that our own ambitions and aspirations grew way beyond making a single publication or running marketing campaigns.

So, three years after we initially gathered to make our first media, we launched a second publication entitled lawless.tech. This time it was in English, and focused on legal aspects of technological advancement.

Eventually, aking standalone publications and working with some of the most innovative minds in tech industry led us to understand that making unique and engaging content is what we feel most comfortable with. So now we create branded content. And we like it.

Who’s on the team?

We’re very fond of each other. Maybe that’s because we’re a small team and our relations go way beyond strictly professional ones. Some of us even jam together, but that’s not the point. So, who we are?

Toly, an poet-turned founder of ForkLog. The strategic mind behind the lines acting from the shadows in a shroud of mystery. Plus an eccentric entrepreneur. Possibly Batman. Or a knight Templar. Nobody knows for sure.

Vlad, a lawyer-turned CEO of this merry band. Also an experienced traveller, a management hero, and a namesake of a vampire, which we deem a coincidence. Most of the time.

Krzystof, a professional zoologist-turned marketer and writer. Also a science enthusiast, a progressive rock geek, and a very scrupulous researcher. Sometimes to a horrifying extent.

Constantine, a PR guru-turned PR guru. A fine strategist, the developer of complex ideas, and the owner of a calm voice complete with an undying passion to get to the bottom of things. Most of the times, in the form of an informed discussion.

Zarui, a mathematician-turned designer. A sensitive artist with the soul of a berserk. The creative force behind all our visuals. Also a very reasonable person and a good fellow, provided she’s not being focused on her work.

Jenny, an astrophysicist and linguist-turned astronaut and alien whisperer. A retired Sumerian deity, mother of dragons, the M87 black hole, and the real author of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto №2. Content producer, project manager, and the creative force behind our concepts and texts. Always on the watershed between stupendous and stupid. Also yours truly.

What about this blog?

It’s a way for you to take a closer look at how branded content is made, and what it takes to succeed in this area. Consider it a sneak peek at the chef’s kitchen. Not everyone really wants to know how their meals are made, but this knowledge is helpful in understanding your food. Something like that is going to happen here.

So here’s what we’re going to talk about:

  • Branded content, like landing pages, videos, games, and blogs, and how we do it.
  • Tech industry, as it is our prime target audience.
  • Some useful hints for our colleagues out there.
  • Interesting use and product cases.
  • Behind-the-scenes reality of media and marketing.
  • Dos and don’ts of branded content from our personal experience.
  • Just ourselves so that our readers would get to know us better.

For now we’re going to post on a weekly basis and just see how it goes from there. Stay tuned!
