Baked French Feta — jalapeno-basil oil, marinated olives, cucumber, grilled bread

The epic journey began with a glorious baked feta, lightly bathed in a virgin olive oil, crumbled atop a bed of toasted bread.

I brought the carefully collected bite to my mouth, anticipating a simple appetizer; basic, if you will.

Much to my surprise, the gods of cheese had blessed this bite and sent a wave of divine bliss rolling across my tongue.

With every delivery of savory Greek delight atop its chariot of rustic toast, each individual note in the orgy of flavors was distinct, yet perfectly blended.

Gripping until it was released with a swallow, this was the first of many bites I’d cherish at Lula cafe.
