Greetings and happy new year FMF community!
Welcome to Formosa Financial’s first Biweekly issue of 2019!
This issue we kick off the year with our CEO Ryan Terribilini’s recap of 2018 and strategy for 2019, news of our first exchange listing of the year, a wrap up of our CoolWallet S crowdsourced design campaign, as well as sneak peek of what’s coming up next!
Setting our 2019 strategy and getting laser-focused
Last week I published a Medium post outlining the broad strategy for Formosa Financial in 2019, featuring an emphasis on building marketing and operations around technology. The aim is to take our formalized partnerships (BitGo, Compound, CoolBit X,etc.) and deliver those features in a secure and scalable platform that will be globally available as soon as possible.
In support of this goal, I have decided committing additional resources to engineering is priority number one. Our tech team is currently in good hands with an experienced tech lead and we are redoubling efforts to build out the development process in place so we can scale engineering to meet our ambitious targets for implementing platform partnerships. Next up, I will also publish a follow-up post that reviews our successes and failures in 2018 and the changes we’re making to address them as part of our 2019 strategy. To give a sneak peek, FMF Telegram group member Jeremy Laster has written:

Formosa Financial Listing Announcement
In case you missed our first 2019 exchange listing announcement last week, Formosa Financial has proudly announced that users can now access our FMF token on Coinsuper, the Hong Kong exchange consistently ranked as top 20 cryptoasset exchanges on Coinmarketcap, as well as the first trading platform to support USD-HKD dual fiat channels. A good part of 2018 was about signing foundational partnerships and building the tech behind our one-stop treasury management platform for cryptoassets, so the team is very excited to kick off the new year with a listing on such a solid exchange.

Speed Up & Ready to Launch!
Later this quarter, Formosa Financial will join an exclusive club of startups at Taiwan’s leading startup accelerator (more specific details forthcoming). As only 40 projects are accepted every half-year, we are honored and excited to be accepted as this resource will help us further sharpen the tools we need to efficiently execute the goals we have set for 2019. Any guess of which company/ecosystem we are entering for accelerating our development and expanding more business opportunities? A little hint for you, they are the turbo engine that helped build several blockchain & AI startups and entering means connection to their network of 328 startups and 925 founders, the largest of its kind in Asia!
In the Press and Media
The last two weeks news about Formosa Financial was heavily centered around our partnership with revolutionary hardware wallet maker CoolBitX. The alliance between two Taiwan based Fintech companies, one software and one hardware, is a big 1–2 combo in the development of treasury management for cryptoassets so there was a lot of great coverage worldwide, with some of the biggest interest coming from Asia. In fact, we experienced the largest increase in Twitter followers and website traffic coming from South Korea in these last 3 weeks!

Formosa Financial x CoolWallet S Winner Voted!
Voting for our cool-wallet design competition has ended! The community has chosen the winning design for the FMF x CoolbitX design competition and… Congratulations to gerrura! We will produce a limited edition of CoolWallet S wallets featuring the selected design and the grand prize winner gerrura will receive 5 of the limited run wallets when they come back from production.
“Thank you FMF community for selecting my design. I’m was really surprised when Formosa Financial team informed that I won! I didn’t add any explanation about the meaning behind my design, so let me share some of my thinking with everyone now: The front-side design of 3D FMF logo is to represent how safe and reliable the company is as the strong block shape is a metaphor of Formosa Financial being a strong and stable treasury management tool for cryptoassets. For the back-side design, I used the concept of Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm, a strong way of encryption based on Ethereum! Personally, I think the formula looks awesome so wanted to add that as both something that looks cool and a secret treat for those who know what it is” -gerrura, Formosa Financial crowdsource design contest grand prize winner.
