Weekly news digest: BTC price rise and ETH performance improvement

Monday is a great day to summarize the main crypto news of the past week, especially since there is quite a lot to look at. Bitcoin, whose price has grown by dozens of percent at once; new promises by Vitalik Buterin — all this could not pass unnoticed! Read more in our digest, and don’t forget to leave a like!

Bitcoin has set a new price record

At the end of the last week, the cost of the first cryptocurrency came close to $ 19,000 per coin. This figure is the annual maximum! Also, the rise in the price of bitcoin led to the fact that the capitalization of BTC rose to a record value. Right now, Bitcoin is trading at $ 18575. In just seven days, the value of BTC increased by 14.43%.

At FORSAGE, we are always glad to hear good news! Moreover, following bitcoin, leading altcoins also added in price! Ethereum has also updated its annual high, and is now trading at $ 583. TRON (TRX) also showed an increase of 16.24%, and is currently trading at $ 0,029577 per coin.

Vitalik Buterin pledges rapid growth in ETH performance

One more long anticipated news! Since August 2020, when a real collapse occurred in the ETH network, the creators of Ethereum have been working hard on the launch of ETH 2.0. Last week, Vitalik Buterin answered users’ questions, and said that he personally expects noticeable improvements in the parameters of the network even earlier than the others do. He also promised that the improvements will be “quick and orderly.” We’d like to believe that everything will happen exactly as Buterin promises! He also said that users can now benefit from Rollups technology, thanks to which transactions will be up to 100 times cheaper than on the main network.

Mexican billionaire invested in bitcoin

Billionaire and founder of the Grupo Salinas group of companies Ricardo Salinas Pliego said that he invested 10% of his portfolio in bitcoin. Moreover, Pliego noted that it is the cryptocurrency that ‘protects the citizen from expropriation [of assets] by the state.’

It is a great joy to see that more and more people are beginning to believe in cryptocurrencies and understand all the benefits of decentralization!

Investors tend to prefer cryptocurrency over gold

Analysts at Deutsche Bank conducted an interesting study that brought them to a conclusion that cryptocurrencies today give significantly higher returns than precious metals. Even those investors who previously hedged the risks of inflation and a weakening dollar through the purchase of precious metals, today turned to cryptocurrencies.
