We are incredibly grateful for the love and support Fortmatic has received from the Ethereum community, with over a hundred applications integrated us in production and thousands of Ethereum developers. We started as an SDK that developers can integrate, to frictionlessly onboard users into decentralized applications (dApps) using familiar Web 2.0 ways of authentication instead of relying on browser extensions or seed phrases — improving user conversion rate from ~10% to up to 84%.

We recently launched our new passwordless SDK — Magic, which received lots of love on Product Hunt 💜. Today, we are excited to share that it now supports Tezos as its first live non-EVM blockchain integration.

Tezos is a solid contender to the generalized blockchain ecosystem, with a blossoming developer community and capabilities like on-chain governance, a Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm, and the ability to facilitate formal verification of smart contracts. These features make Tezos an ideal long-term solution for high-value financial applications. Combined with a growing community of developers, there is a clear potential for exciting and high-stakes applications with the right set of tools in place.

With the Magic SDK, developers can easily build applications on top of the Tezos blockchain via Magic’s Tezos Extension. With this extension, every new user that signs up via Magic will be given a Tezos key pair managed by our blockchain-agnostic Delegated Key Management System.

There are vastly different use cases and requirements that can only be served by properties provided by specific blockchains. Honoring the ethos of decentralization in the blockchain industry, we believe that developers should have the optionality to choose different blockchains for different types of applications and businesses.

This gives developers more optionality besides only EVM-compatible chains, and let them tap into the scalability and unique properties of Tezos. Magic will also be helping out with holistic improvements on the Tezos developer experience.

👉 Please follow the Magic Tezos documentation to get started adding passwordless authentication to your Tezos application! 🚀

Magic is a developer SDK that enables passwordless, customizable, and future-proof authentication with a few lines of code.
