It’s worth the extra $$

You prefer to save or invest your hard-earned money than spend it on useless purchases. And most of the time, you’re totally right! There is no need to splurge on overpriced stationery, designer handbags, or luxury cosmetics. However, there are some items I think every woman, no matter how careful with their money, should save up for and spend a bit more on.

Here are 5 Items Worth the Extra Money:

1. Quality Undergarments

Quality lingerie is built to last, is often more comfortable, and will elevate your entire look- we don’t want any lines, do we? High-quality, flattering undergarments can also help increase overall body confidence. Bras, underwear, and shapewear are therefore garments every woman should splurge on. Quality should always precede quantity in this category, especially since these pieces can last for years if washed by hand and stored nicely. Some of my personal favorite intimate apparel brands to shop from include Soma, ThirdLove, and Spanx.

2. Nice Bed Linens

Investing in good quality bed sheets, such as silk or bamboo, can help you get a better night’s sleep. Luxury bedding is often softer, longer-lasting, hypoallergenic, bacteria repelling, and better at regulating temperature. Additionally, luxury bedding is more likely to be produced sustainably. More care often goes into the manufacturing process and finished product for higher quality brands. Many luxury bedding brands sell linens that are organic, pesticide-free, and avoid the use of caustic chemicals. Cozy Earth is my favorite brand to purchase bed sheets from online. Brooklinen and Parachute Home are also highly rated.

3. Denim Jeans that Fit You Right

Although you may have worn more sweatpants than jeans over this past year, every woman should own 2–3 pairs of good quality jeans that complement their body type. Jeans will never go out of style, and you can dress them up or down. I recommend choosing jeans that are smooth, breathable and have a classic fit. Quality denim will stand the test of time and make you feel confident! Levi’s, Citizens of Humanity, Paige, and Agolde are a few great denim brands.

4. Comfortable Shoes

No matter how affordable, stylish, or great a pair of shoes look on your legs, skip the purchase if they aren’t comfortable to walk for miles wearing. Also, make sure to invest in shoes that fit your feet well (wide feet, narrow, flat, etc.). I think it’s also essential to spend extra money on good quality work, hiking, or sport shoes. Your feet and back deserve good support, and you don’t want to keep purchasing cheap shoes often.

5. A Coat You Can Count On

A good quality coat can last a lifetime. This item is essential if you live in a colder climate and is probably a clothing piece people see you wearing most often. Your cost-per-wear will also be pretty low if you need to wear a coat daily during most months of the year. If you live in a warmer climate, it may still make sense to spend a little extra money on a long-lasting, quality coat that will be able to serve you well for lifelong travels (after COVID-19, of course). Qualities to look for in a coat include dual zippers that you can open in opposite directions, a removable hood, and deep, accessible pockets. I also recommend choosing a coat with a classic cut, shape, and neutral color that fits well with any outfit. As always, read product labels and reviews before purchasing.

Are there any other items you feel are worth the extra money?
