Americans lined up in anticipation of the election of the 47th president of the United States in November. As the battle for immigration and reproductive rights hung in the balance of this election, a great number of viewers waited all night to learn the results. Following the collection of the results, the globe ceased to hear the formal announcement of the 47th president of the United States of America.
Because the new world leader’s views on immigration, reproductive rights, and relationship acceptability did not align with those of the American people, everything darkened. The destiny of women’s fundamental right to their bodies was at the forefront of this. A stench of mistrust permeated the air once the election was over and the results revealed that black women were once again left with a bitter taste of disappointment.
Black women have been the organizers, champions, and supporters of all women since the dawn of time, even before they were given the ability to vote.
