Manage spending with your soulmate 💑
Honeydue hit the app stores last year but just recently started to become popular. The app, funded by Y Combinator (s2017 batch), is making it easy to manage finances with your loved ones.
The app is available for iOS and Android and allows you to set budgets and view all of your accounts. What’s awesome about this app is that it still allows for some personal privacy. All of your bills and accounts are separated under tabs titled ‘Individual’, ‘Personal’, or ‘All.’
You’re also given a calendar view which allows you to see past and upcoming bill payments which are all color-coordinated by category.
You can also set up your own categories like ‘Date Nights’, ‘Shopping & Fun’, and ‘Getting Around.’ It’s super easy to divvy up expenses between two people and automation seems to be a central focus for the app.
I’m honestly surprised personal finance apps haven’t integrated this kind of feature before Honeydue. It seems like a no-brainer. Financial transparency seems to be a common issue among couples. Even loved ones who aren’t sneaky about their personal finances sometimes forget to pay bills, etc. This is a great and simple solution to that problem.
