Meet the team ✨

Introducing Jennifer✨

Foundervine started in 2018 as a small group of founders that shared a passion for entrepreneurship and technology. This community has become an important place for founders to connect, learn, grow and collaborate with each other.

And as such, we wanted to introduce you to members of our team so you can get to know who we are, what we do and how we can help you on your journey.

So what’s your name and what’s your role at Foundervine?

Hey, my name is Jennifer Takyi and I’m a Program Associate 👋🏾

What caused you to join?

It is the work that Foundervine does that attracted me. It is important that individuals from racialised and marginalised communities are afforded opportunities that allow them to realise their potential. Equally as important is that they have access to the tools and resources needed to create these same opportunities in their communities. The innovation space can be quite daunting for diverse founders and individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, and it is the work that Foundervine is doing that addresses this problem. I wanted to be a part of that. A bonus is that our team is incredibly diverse and full of brilliant minds — who wouldn’t want to join!

When you are not with Foundervine, what do you do?

Quite a few things! I’m not originally from London, so in my spare time, I enjoy exploring all the hidden gems this city has to offer — and there are many! I’m keen on the city’s diverse art scene, so it’s been nice visiting different exhibitions and live music showcases. I love meeting new people and embracing adventure, so travel is always high on my to-do list. My next destination is Cap Skirring, Senegal 🇸🇳, and I plan on taking up surfing when I’m there!

Any side hustles? What are the key things you want the Vine Community to know about you?

My background is in law and policy, and I’m currently in the preliminary phases of working on a campaign to mitigate the effects of widespread legal aid cuts to better realise access to justice. If you’re reading this and interested in getting involved, connect with me!

What’s your plan for the next 5 years?

As aforementioned my background is in law, so I’ll be a practising lawyer. My interests are wide-ranging and include technology and innovation and emerging markets — so a practice that mirrors these areas. I look forward to supporting Foundervine’s legal essential masterclasses or legal accelerators — but let me get fully qualified first!

We’re building the greatest and most diverse community of digitally enabled businesses globally. Our plan over the next five years is to continue to grow a community just for you — one which connects you to people, networks and knowledge that you need to grow a successful venture. We look forward to you joining the Vine Community. Sign up for our newsletter here!
