Lately, I started researching about the music industry a lot because I wanted to learn how the streaming platforms are effecting the music industry as well as how it’s benefitting artists in general.

Most artists make money with touring and that is their biggest revenue source. After all, so much planning goes behind the scenes of concerts and tours to optimize the quality of production.

Many musicians, artists and tour staff suffered financially in 2020 due to concert cancellations.

When concerts are out of the equation for the time being, we shift our focus to streaming but apparently, streaming platforms don’t pay much unless you accumulate massive numbers.

If an artist does not have a strong and solid fanbase willing to stream their music 24/7 or their song doesn’t go viral then pulling in massive numbers would be impossible I’d assume.

Huge numbers in the streaming system can convert to significant profit for artists if marketing is done properly.
