Through this song, the audience gets to peek through Jaskier’s diary, if he keeps any, where he rants about his friendship with his best friend, Geralt of Rivia.

After Geralt and Jaskier part ways in season 1, we find Jaskier in a scene, yet on another tavern stage, where he releases his suppressed emotions about Geralt.

Through a song he has written to his beloved friend, a song that he performs proudly, he has become a renowned performer in the realm of The Witcher.

His friendship’s demise has brought him fame and abundance, becoming a turning point in his musical career.

The character of Jaskier is a true example of how artists take their personal experiences and make a song out of them, which sometimes advances them into stardom, even in medieval times.

Jaskier doesn’t fall short of this phenomenon, even if he doesn’t live in modern times like us.

If Geralt has his sword and potions, Jaskier has his storytelling, voice, and lute.
