Young boys try to imitate celebrities to look cool, sexy, hot, appealing and desirable. For this they end up going to the gym, eating lots of meat because their trainer told them that they need it to have a good body. They need meat for protein and whatnot. Many young boys follow their trainers blindly including my brother. Most of these people want to become like Virat Kohli or Vidyut Jamwa without realising they both do not eat meat.

In this blog, we would talk about the handsome hunk from Bollywood, who has been learning Kalaripatayu since he was three years old. He is super duper fit. Has got incredible strength and flexibility as well.

Many young guys look up to him and eat hoards of steroids and meat for getting a fit body like his. But contrary to their belief the man does not consume any of this and sticks to a vegan and local diet.

Vidyut Jamwal

Vidyut Jammwal is 39-year-old Indian actor, martial artist, and stunt performer but looks like a young guy in his twenties. He is best known for his roles in action films like Commando series. He is learning the Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu since the age of three. The martial art has been said to be developed by Maharshi Parashuram himself. He can be seen doing insane workouts like balancing with a hand on one single bottle. You can check out this video to get an idea of his incredible holistic fitness.

But surprisingly, Vidyut’s diet is not a fancy diet followed by fitness enthusiasts with lots of animal protein, and a wide range of supplements.

Vidyut Jamwal is a vegetarian/vegan and an ardent supporter of PETA. He earlier used to eat meat in every meal. But has been a vegetarian for many years now. He says that giving up meat is the best decision ever he made in life. And he feels younger, fitter, lighter, faster and calmer.

Vidyut doesn’t believe in dieting. He takes six small meals throughout the day. His diet is as follows;

  • A bowl of muesli before hitting the gym
  • Idlis for breakfast.
  • Dal, veggies and roti for lunch
  • His evening snack is one plate upma
  • For dinner, he prefers some veggies and roti
  • He also eats a lot of seasonal and local fruits. Vidyut take a protein shake after each workout session and rely on tofu for his protein intake.

Even my brother was surprised to know that he eats Dal, roti sabzi, idli, upma and fruits for nutrition and got such incredibly fit mind and body.

Moral of the story is that you don’t animal protein for being as fit and strong like him. You just need balanced healthy, local, seasonal diet and lots of discipline to stick to the workout routine.
