This past Saturday, Tommy and I had a chance to spend some time at the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) for their SOUND OFF event. We’ve been in touch with them for a while to get feedback on FourLeaf, and they were kind enough to extend an invite for us to join their vendors and partners at the event — we ended up sharing the patio area with other companies such as Guitar Center, Line 6, and Daisy Rock Guitars. Pictured above is our booth, complete with FourLeaf handouts and bad decisions in candy-form (more on that later). Thanks so much to Erin and Meli over at LACM for accommodating us!

It was a real treat to get to meet so many hard-working and motivated songwriters, producers, performers, and other musicians at the event. I was particularly impressed with the multiple workshops that LACM put on for their attendees (one of which is pictured below), led by many big names including Linda Perry and Kasia “KC” Livingston.

I also learned that Peruvian sandwiches are delicious beyond description, and that chocolate is a bad choice of free candy to offer at your booth when the hot Californian sun is determined to ruin your day. The Skittles and Starbursts held up a little better, but I think we’re going to have to rethink our “free stuff” and “company swag” decisions for the next time we get a table at an outdoor event.
