It’s a pleasure to be able to introduce the FourLeaf team blog. We’re still working on the platform itself, but we’ll be posting periodic updates and stories to this blog to keep you all in the loop!

For those of you hearing about FourLeaf for the first time, here’s a bit more about us — we’re developing a platform that uses relevant data and song analytics to help you connect with the right producers and songwriters. What that means is, as a user, you’ll be able to use FourLeaf to find new connections and potential collaborators based on characteristics and parameters that are important to you as a music industry professional.

Our core team currently consists of three people — Christopher Changchien, Tommy Park, and myself, Ian Choe. Tommy and I met for the first time in April of 2009 in Manhattan while working for the same entertainment company. It was his first day, and I hadn’t been informed of the recent hire, so I ended up refusing him access to our closed office for at least 15 minutes before another employee rushed to his aid. I’m almost certain that he’ll never tire of reminding me of how hot it was outside that day. At any rate, we remained in close contact after I left the company and have worked on other projects together as well. Christopher was introduced to us by a close mutual friend in 2014, and clicked with us quickly over our shared interest in the potential intersection between music and tech.

All three of us have extensive experience in the music industry and have seen firsthand evidence of the need for a platform like FourLeaf. Chris is an independent singer/songwriter who has released multiple EPs, Tommy is a signed producer/songwriter for one of the largest entertainment companies in Asia with many #1 songs to his name, and I served as the Chief Business Development Officer for a very forward-thinking music publishing company for a year. Together, we’re building a platform where songwriters and producers will be able to connect and collaborate with ease and peace of mind.

We’re counting on songwriters and producers everywhere to chime in and give their feedback — every little bit will help make FourLeaf a better platform. We’ll post here on the blog as often as possible, and I hope to converse with many of you in the future! If you’re interested in staying in touch via social media, please feel free to follow us on Twitter or like our page on Facebook. For those of you on AngelList, you can check out our page here.
